So, last I heard, Christopher Dorner is still at large, running around California threatening to kill various and sundry people. Now, it could be just the effects of living in California that drove him to this, but we have evidence that it’s something different: his own “manifesto.”
And, in his own words, we find a disgruntled and angry cop, who is, mirabile dictu, a democrat and a complete left-wing nut. Before you go accusing me of making unfounded assumptions, let’s take a look at what he said. All of the following quotes are from his 11,000 word posting on Facebook.
“If you had a well regulated AWB, this would not happen. The time is now to reinstitute a ban that will save lives.”
“Sen. Feinstein, you are doing the right thing in leading the re-institution of a national AWB.”
“In my cache you will find several small arms. In the cache, Bushmaster firearms, Remington precision rifles, and AAC Suppressors (silencers). All of these small arms are manufactured by Cerberus/Freedom Group. The same company responsible for the Portland mall shooting, Webster , NY, and Sandy Hook massacre.”
“You disrespect the office of the POTUS/Presidency and Commander in Chief. Off the record, I love your new bangs, Mrs. Obama. Mr. President… I think you’ve done a hell of a job with what you have been dealt and how you have managed it. I shed a tear the night you were initially elected President in 2008.”
“It’s kind of sad I won’t be around to view and enjoy The Hangover III.”
“Mr. Vice President, do your due diligence when formulating a concise and permanent national AWB plan.”
“Hillary Clinton. You’ll make one hell of a president in 2016. Much like your husband, Bill, you will be one of the greatest.”
“Wayne LaPierre, President of the NRA, you’re a vile and inhumane piece of shit. May all of your immediate and distant family die horrific deaths in front of you.”
“Chris Matthews, Joe Scarborough, Pat Harvey, Brian Williams, Soledad Obrien, Wolf Blitzer, Meredith Viera, Tavis Smiley, and Anderson Cooper, keep up the great work….”
“[G]ive Piers Morgan an indefinite resident alien and Visa card. Mr. Morgan…I want you to know that I agree with you 100% on enacting stricter firearm laws.”
“Oh, and you Prop 8 supporters, why the fuck do you care who your neighbor marries. Hypocritical pieces of shit.”
“Westboro Baptist Church, may you all burn slowly in a fire, not from smoke inhalation, but from the flames and only the flames.”
“Dave Brubeck’s “Take Five” is the greatest piece of music ever, period.”
“Cardinal Mahoney, you are in essence a predator yourself as you enabled your subordinates to molest multiple children in the church over many decades. May you die a long and slow painful death.”
“If you continuously followed me while I was walking at dusk/night I would confront you as well. Too bad Trayvon didn’t smash your skull completely open, Zim.”
The first thing you notice is how disjointed his manifesto is. The above quotes are all in chronological order in his screed. He jumps from one topic to the next, seemingly at random. One is tempted to think brain injury, which is why, perhaps, he wants his brain donated to science.
The second thing I noticed was the unintentional irony of a maniac applauding an assault weapons ban while bragging about the size of his cache of weapons. Then, like many on the left, he goes on to blame the Cerberus/Freedom Group, a firearm manufacturer, for the Sandy Hook and Portland shootings. Unable, like so many, it appears, to distinguish between actors culpable and innocent. One wonders whether he blames Bushmaster or Cerberus for his own rampage.
He applauds the luminaries on the left, naming, inter alia, Obama, Mrs. Obama, Feinstein, Biden, Chris Wallace, Charlie Sheen, and a host of others. He compliments them on jobs well done, urges them to continue their campaigns, etc. He is certain that Hillary Clinton will be as great a president as her husband.
But the people he doesn’t like, like Wayne LaPierre, Cardinal Mahoney, George Zimmerman, upon them he wishes horrible and painful deaths. In what is commonplace in political dialogue, the left demonizes people it disagrees with. Discontented with discussing ideas and their ramifications, the left engages in the politics of personal destruction. Dorner just follows a well-worn path.
Lastly, one notices his complete and utter lack of any taste whatsoever. He claims a Brubeck piece as the greatest piece of music ever. He also loves Jay-Z, who is, I think, a rapper. And then, he sings the praises of the movie “Hangover” and its sequels. He further mentions that Charlie Sheen is “effin awesome.”
Anyone who cannot see that Mozart trumps Brubeck, Beethoven trumps Jay-Z, and believes that “Hangover” is movie art can, I suppose, be forgiven for thinking Sheen is awesome.
One is left wondering, though, if Dorner were a Tea Party supporter or a Romney voter, whether his political leanings would be so conspicuously absent from the media reports.
